Questions our clients frequently ask

Yes. Just like performing surgery on yourself is always a bad idea, you should never assume you can handle a legal matter without the help of competent legal counsel.

For most case evaluations, yes, we provide free initial consultations. For instance, we offer free initial consultations for cases involving: injury; workers’ compensation; civil rights; divorce; custody; child support; adoption; and criminal defense.

The only cases we do not provide free initial consultations are cases involving employment issues. We charge a one-time $50.00 consultation for an in-office meeting with R&S attorney Kash Stilz to evaluate your employment issue.

The fee we charge depends on the type of case you have. We typically charge contingency fees for injury, civil rights, employment, and workers’ compensation cases.

A contingency fee is only paid by our clients when we recover money for the damages they have suffered. If we are unable to recover any money, we do not charge an attorney’s fee. We cannot charge contingency fees in criminal defense or family law cases.

We do work with our clients to make the payment process as easy as possible by offering a variety of fee options including hourly fees with agreed-upon retainers, and flat fees. A “retainer” is an amount of money paid upfront by the client that we keep in a special bank account and work off as the case progresses.

Lack of communication is one of the leading complaints of lawyers by their clients in the legal industry. We believe communication is the cornerstone to a positive legal experience for our clients.

If you contact us regarding your case with a question, we will get back to you within 24 hours by either return phone call or email.

While we work diligently to progress your case through the legal system, every case is different.

The amount of time it can take to complete a legal matter is completely dependent on the complexity of the case, the conduct of the other side in the case, and the court in which the case is pending.

The attorney-client relationship is built on trust, honesty, and communication. Any attorney-client relationship that lacks one of these attributes is going to result in a negative experience.

Do your research on the attorneys you are considering to hire. Set up face to face appointments with them. Ask them about their experience with similar cases. Your case should never be about the attorney you hire, yet the attorney you hire can be the difference between a successful or unsuccessful outcome.
