I was born in Lexington, Kentucky into a military family. My father’s military duties required us to frequently move to different parts of our country.  I was fortunate to meet all sorts of people as I crossed the country with my family. I learned the importance of family, honor and country through the examples of my mother and father. After much time away from Kentucky, we moved back to Elizabethtown, Kentucky and close to other family. There I immediately made friendships that remain to this day and was able to grow closer to my extended family. I was fortunate to have grandparents in my life until I was 48 years old. Through this I learned the importance of family connections and the respect that is due to those who came before us. 

After high school I was off to the University of Kentucky where both my father and brother graduated. You can say that our family bleeds blue (UK) and green (US Army). I graduated from the University of Kentucky and went on to Eastern Kentucky University where I earned my Master’s degree in Criminal Justice. 

After my college days ended, I moved to Washington D.C. for an internship within the United States Senate, then back to Kentucky to work on several political campaigns. My experience in politics taught me that hard work and perseverance were not always rewarded with victory, but the fight was always worth it. Following my foray into politics I went to work in the Security industry for several years. Finally, I decided to follow a life-long dream and entered law school at Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. After graduation I joined the Public Defender’s office in Kenton County, Kentucky defending juveniles and adults. I was then offered the opportunity to join the Kenton County Attorney’s office as the Chief Juvenile Prosecutor. I stayed there for almost five years. Then in 2007, I met with my friend and fellow Chase classmate Kash Stilz and we decided to open Roush & Stilz P.S.C. Our desire was to provide excellent legal representation to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky community. Since opening our doors I have represented thousands of Northern Kentuckians in their fight for justice and I look forward to help doing the same for my future clients.
